When the birds realized I was back from vacation, they had a party.
For a couple of hours, the birdbath was nonstop fun.
Birds were swooping in and out: bathing, drinking, fussing, chirping and trilling.
I refilled the birdbath twice because they’d splashed all the water out of it.
Now, I know they were celebrating the birdbath having water in it again.
They weren’t really thinking in terms of my return from vacation. But it sure felt like a welcome-home to me.
Like every happy connection with nature, it was meaningful.
Whether it’s a flock birds having a free-for-all in your backyard or a single sparrow holding your gaze, that connection with nature is a sign of alignment.
This isn’t just about birds, or even animals for that matter.
You may see dappled sunlight on grass and feel a moment of calm. Or you might drive under a canopy of trees that feels like a covered bridge.
Even on the worst of days, we all have our moments of alignment.
When you rendezvous with images of nature and greetings from animals, those are “hellos” from the Universe. Nature is one of the easiest ways to see evidence of alignment if you’re having an (otherwise) crazy day.
And on your good days?
Well, the birds just might throw a party for you.
