You’ve no doubt heard the story of the blind men who encounter an elephant. Each blind man feels a different part of the elephant (big solid leg, flexible tube-like trunk, flat fan-like ear, etc.).
Later they argue with each other because each man is sure that he knows what an elephant is like. Just as each blind man encountered a different aspect of the elephant, likewise we encounter different aspects of whatever is happening in our day.
When we align our energy, the basic aspects of our life don’t transform overnight
But the way those basics “fill in” can vary dramatically, depending on our vibrational framework. For example, let’s say we have a job that we’re not crazy about. Aligning our energy about our work is not going to result in having a different job the next day.
But our energy determines what aspect of the job we will encounter
Will we meet the job-equivalent of the elephant’s trunk or ear? Or will we find ourselves dealing with the thin tasseled part at the elephant’s back end? Those details of our job have to do with the energetic framework or Grid that we have about our job. Let’s back up and talk about the Grid.
The Grid is a vibrational framework
Our emotions form a vibrational framework. Abraham is calling this the Grid. This term can refer to whatever grid-like example you find helpful . Think of the Grid (in the early stages) as a blueprint or an outline. When the Grid becomes more substantial, you can think of it as the girders and framework for a building.
The physical framework of a house will be filled in with flooring, walls, trim, and more
Just as the framework of a building gets filled in with construction details, likewise our vibrational framework will be “filled in” by Law of Attraction. The vibrational Grid gets filled with physical details that match the emotional shape we have set.
Here’s how it works in a workday. Let’s say we oversleep
So we start our day feeling like we’re running late. That’s the emotional grid we’ve got. We’re feeling the stress of having more things to do than there’s time to do it all.
Law of Attraction brings us things to match that not enough time emotion
It seems like these things just happen. We’ll be dressed for work and brush against the kitchen counter where there was a dab of butter, which is now an embarrassing grease stain. This means we have to change clothes before leaving, which makes us even later. The car is on “empty” and we have to stop for gas. We manage to drive behind slow-moving cars and get stopped at every light.
Now, imagine if, instead, our vibrational Grid was that we felt sloppy
In that case we’d be likely not to notice the grease stain until we were at work. Then we’d be walking around all day looking like we had dressed in dirty clothes. We’d have used coffee cups and wadded up napkins in our car when we pulled into a parking space next to someone we knew. Someone we knew who would happen to glance in the window and see the trash on the car seat.
Alternatively, what if our emotional Grid felt well-prepared
If you feel well-prepared, you could oversleep and have every little detail fall into place for you. It would turn out that you had picked up the dry cleaning the day before. And after leaving the dry cleaners you had the impulse to stop at the gas station.
So even though you oversleep, you wake up knowing that there are perfectly pressed clothes hanging in the closet. And that the car is all gassed-up and ready to go.
We’re not creating the clothes, the car or the butter
They’re already created. They’re on our path; they’re in our orbit. We’re going to rendezvous with them. What we’re creating the vibrational Grid for is how we’ll rendezvous with them.
The clothes, the car and the dab of butter are in every scenario
But they way they’re there is a match to our emotional Grid as we walk into each scenario. Just as the blind men met the elephant’s ear or trunk (or the thin tasseled part in the rear), likewise we’re meeting a different aspect of our clothes and car, depending on our vibrational Grid.
